CHANGING THE CONVERSATION for People Living With Diabetes

Sierra was diagnosed with diabetes on April 14, 2019, an experience that changed how others saw and treated her. Uneducated reactions and constant alarms, along with missing out on activities due to low blood sugars, have been challenging. Living with diabetes has made Sierra more empathetic, teaching her that you never truly know what others are going through, and that even hard days can lead to brighter ones.

Outside of diabetes, Sierra loves playing the piano and has been taking lessons for two years, while also being able to play by ear. She is an animal lover, with the fox as her favourite. Sierra dreams of going to school for SFX makeup and hopes to work on movie sets doing makeup for actors. She also loves going tubing with friends and cherishes the feeling of freedom and joy it brings.

Sierra is modeling in the Pump Couture Fashion Show to help raise awareness and show that diabetes does not define her.
