Macey Kasprick

CHANGING THE CONVERSATION for People Living With Diabetes

Macey was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on October 14, 2017. Since then, diabetes has been something she has to think about every single day — even when she’s just trying to be a kid and live a normal life.

One of Macey’s biggest challenges is the constant mental load. While other kids can be spontaneous, Macey has to always be thinking ahead: what she’s eating, what she’s doing next, and how her blood sugar might respond. It’s a lot to carry, especially at such a young age.

But Macey is proof that kids living with diabetes are incredibly strong. She says diabetes has taught her resilience and helped her become tougher than she ever expected to be.

Macey loves to dance and sing, and she brings that same energy and confidence into everything she does — including stepping onto the runway.

Macey has attended D-Camps, and she absolutely loved it. For her, camp was more than just fun — it was freedom. She got to swim, rock climb, meet other kids who understand what diabetes feels like, and just enjoy being herself without having to explain her devices or her routines.

Macey is modelling in the Pump Couture Fashion Show to raise awareness, help stop stigma, and support D-Camps so more kids living with diabetes can experience the same sense of belonging and confidence.

Her message is simple and powerful: "Don’t give up. Ever."
