Kinsley Simmons

CHANGING THE CONVERSATION for People Living With Diabetes

At just seven years old, Kinsley is already showing the kind of courage and resilience that inspires everyone around her. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in November 2025, Kinsley has faced a life changing journey with strength, sparkle, and a smile that lights up every room.

Kinsley is bright, kind, and full of life. She loves learning, laughing, and spending time with her friends. Like many children her age, she enjoys all the fun and magic that comes with being seven. Since her diagnosis, she has also had to learn a whole new way of understanding her body and navigating the world around her.

Living with T1D means there are no days off. It requires constant attention whether at school, during playtime, or while sleeping. Kinsley is learning to recognize the signs of high and low blood sugar, understand what her glucose numbers mean, and build confidence in managing routines that many people never have to think about.

Her journey has also highlighted the importance of support and care for children living with T1D. Since being diagnosed, Kinsley has only been able to attend school for five days in the past five months. Her story is a reminder of how important safe and consistent diabetes support is for children and families, especially during the school day.

Through every challenge, Kinsley continues to grow stronger and more confident. She is learning that diabetes is something she lives with, but it does not define who she is. She is still the same joyful and curious little girl with a big heart and bright future.

Kinsley is surrounded by love and understanding. She has three aunties who also live with T1D, showing her every day that she is never alone and that a full and happy life is absolutely possible.

Tonight, Kinsley walks the Pump Couture runway as a symbol of courage, hope, and the power of community. Her message is simple. "No one faces diabetes alone, and kids living with type 1 diabetes can still shine exactly as they are meant to."
