CHANGING THE CONVERSATION for People Living With Diabetes
Annalynne was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) on October 27, 2019. One of the toughest parts for her is dealing with random lows at night, especially when she’s half asleep and her body is asking for attention when she’s trying to rest.
Living with T1D has made Annalynne stronger. Managing an invisible illness has also made her more empathetic toward others, because she understands that people can be carrying challenges you can’t see. Over time, she’s also become less afraid of needles, and more confident in her ability to handle hard things.
Outside of diabetes, Annalynne is passionate about her role in Air Cadets and the opportunities it has brought her. She’s proud of the growth, confidence, and community she’s found through that experience, and she carries that same determination into her diabetes management.
Her message is encouraging. Even though it’s hard, don’t give up. It gets easier, and you can still do the things you love. She also recommends D Camps for the fun, the friendships, and the reminder that you are not alone.
