CHANGING THE CONVERSATION for People Living With Diabetes

Mohammed was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) as a child, and he has now lived with diabetes for over four decades. Over time, he has learned that diabetes is a constant presence, requiring daily decision-making and long-term resilience. 

One of Mohammed’s biggest challenges is the ongoing responsibility of managing T1D through every season of life. Diabetes requires constant attention and planning, even when others may not realize how much effort is happening in the background. 

Living with diabetes for so many years has shaped Mohammed into someone disciplined, resilient, and deeply aware of his health. He has learned how to advocate for himself and navigate challenges with confidence, even when things feel unpredictable. 

Something meaningful about Mohammed is the perspective he has gained through lived experience. He understands the long-term nature of diabetes and the strength it takes to keep going day after day. 

Mohammed is modeling in the Pump Couture Fashion Show to raise awareness and help change the conversation around diabetes. His message is simple and supportive. You are not alone, and needing help does not make you weak.
