CHANGING THE CONVERSATION for People Living With Diabetes
Jennifer lives with diabetes and understands firsthand that the impact goes far beyond blood sugar levels. Some of the challenges are physical, including fatigue and days when her energy feels depleted. Other challenges are emotional and mental, like constantly thinking about what to eat, monitoring blood sugar levels, and remembering to take medication every day. Even on the days when she feels exhausted or overwhelmed, diabetes still requires attention and care.
Like many people living with diabetes, Jennifer also carries the stress of thinking about the future. The long-term “what if” questions can feel heavy, especially when diabetes is often discussed through fear or stigma rather than understanding. Jennifer continues to navigate these realities with honesty, resilience, and a strong commitment to caring for her health.
Over time, living with diabetes has shaped Jennifer into someone who embraces herself more fully and holistically. Rather than feeling sad or defined by her diagnosis, she has come to accept diabetes as one part of her entire being. That shift in perspective has brought her greater self-awareness, compassion, and confidence.
Something meaningful about Jennifer is her dedication to making the lives of others better, especially children, youth, and families. She is passionate about connection and believes deeply in the power of community, support, and understanding. That purpose is woven into who she is and how she shows up in the world.
Jennifer is modeling in the Pump Couture Fashion Show to help change the conversation around diabetes and challenge stigma through visibility and honesty. She hopes her story reminds others that living with diabetes requires strength, but it also allows space for pride, connection, and a full and meaningful life.
